Why Northfire, and why now.
The name is the scope.
We named this company Compliance, not Cleaning, on purpose. Kitchen exhaust-hood cleaning under NFPA 96 and grease-trap servicing under Toronto Municipal Code Chapter 681 are two separate legal obligations most kitchens end up tracking, or not tracking, on their own, often through two different vendors. Northfire exists to be the one program that covers both, with the paperwork to prove it.
New company, not new to the work.
Northfire Compliance is a new company, but the people running it aren't new to fire prevention. We also own and run Dryer Vent Doctor, a GTA home fire-prevention business with a decade-plus track record: over 4,000 customers served and a 4.8-star Google rating. Dryer-vent lint buildup is a leading, well-documented, and highly preventable cause of home fires, and Dryer Vent Doctor exists to solve exactly that. The same values carry over here: do the right thing, raise the standard, integrity.
Northfire exists to bring that same standard to commercial kitchens, where cooking equipment and exhaust systems are the leading cause of restaurant fires: 61% of all restaurant fires, per NFPA. What's actually new is Northfire itself, and we won't pretend otherwise. You're not another stop on an overbooked route: your walkthrough gets scheduled on your timeline, and every visit ends with a documented compliance binder handed to you on site, kept current and ready for an inspector at any time.
